WITHDRAWING YOUR OWN WILL AND CODICIL FROM SAFE KEEPING

Use this form ONLY if you are applying for withdrawal of your own will.

If you are an executor, or someone other than the executor and would like to request the withdrawal of a will after death, please go to Withdrawing a will after death

To apply for withdrawal of your own will or codicil from safe custody, please complete YOUR DETAILS in full of the following application to receive a withdrawal form. Your instructions will be processed immediately on the arrival at The Will Registry Office.

The fee for withdrawing a will from The Will Registry Office is £20.00. Please make the cheque payable to: The Will Registry Office which must be enclosed with the following documents and sent by recorded post to the following address

Helpful information.

Who can withdraw a will from the Registry

  • During the lifetime of the testator, (the person who made the will), he/she is the only person that can apply to withdraw their own will from The Will Registry Office.

How to withdraw your own will from the registry

  • Complete the Withdrawing your own will application form above or you can request a form from The Will Registry Office by email to thewillregistryoffice.co.uk.

  • Complete the withdrawal form in FULL and post to The Registrar The Will Registry Office at the following address. On receipt of your registration card, completed form and fee, your will, codicil or both will be returned by recorded or registered post.

  • If you are unable to locate your registration card, you must write a letter addressed to The Registrar at The Will Registry Office explaining that you have carried out a complete search but have been unable to locate the registration card.
